History

Co-Founder Dora R. Mason
Las Amigas, Incorporated, a national, charitable, public service, fundraising organization of women, was founded in 1957 by the late Mrs. Dora R. Mason and Mrs. Mary Q. Moore.   The initial vision of the co-founders was a network of professional women working together to enhance, enrich, and improve the lives of citizens from all walks of life.   They visualized members enhancing the quality of life and promoting the general improvements of their community, encouraging personal and professional growth and fostering a close relationship among the sisterhood.

Fifty-four years and several thousand hours of community service later, this vision continues to unfold as chapters in the states of  Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and our nation's capitol reach out to help others.

Through Sisterhood and Service, Las Amigas, Incorporated is impacting lives, making a difference, and leaving an imprint on the communities served.
